What next for Arteta's Arsenal

Arsenal are coming out of one of their worst seasons finishing 8th and not qualifying in any European competitions. Fans and the club are stuck in Turmoil of possible Spotify takeover led by Daniel Ek and Arsenal legends (Viera, Henry etc.) . The Keronke's promised to invest in the team hence leading to an aggregate of 250mil  to spend in the transfer- market. 

According to me Arsenal are the team which needs rejuvenation in every area of the pitch. Mikel Arteta prefers a  4-2-3-1 formation with average pressing and counter attacking style of play. Arsenal's academy products are exceptional. Some of the positions are set and some of the positions need new buys. As Kieran Tierney is handed a new captaincy role and a 5 years contract the position of left back is filled. As Xhaka, Bellerin and Leno are nearing their exits. Here are 5 players Arsenal should sign to get into European spot.

These are the positions in which Arsenal does not need any recruitments this season. The '?' ones are the positions to improve.

1. GK - Andre Onana (Ajax 🠊 Arsenal) 

A 25 years old excellent goalkeeper who has champions league and the league football pedigree. Great on the ball, fearless and loves to play out from the back. He has and average rating of 6.85 per match. As a goalkeeper he is good in air as he managed to marry 1.45 Aerial duals and won 92 %  of it. The Cameroonian loves clean sheets as he achieves 45%  of clean sheets every season and concedes 0.64 goals per match. He will be available for around 7- 10 mil euros.  A significant upgrade than the current goalkeeper.

                         

2. RB - Ridle Baku (VfL Wolfsburg 🠊 Arsenal)

The Wolfsburg man just won the U-21 Euros with Germany. Words to describe is a complete wing back. A Versatile player who started in midfield and then settled at right wingback. He would be suited to both inverted and overlapping roles depending on what Arteta prefers he can also play as a traditional winger. Baku is fast and energetic he topped the Bundesliga charts of most sprints and most intensive runs (1061 and 2829 respectively). He is an intelligent defender who tries to win back the ball with more interception than tackles with a success rate of whooping 89%. His Market value is around 25 mil euros. If Arsenal buy him we are looking at a long term player to run the right. 

    

3. CM - Marcel Sabitzer  (RB Leipzig 🠊 Arsenal)

Its clear that Arsenal needs a controller/ playmaker and someone to form an excellent partnership with Thomas Partey. Albert Sambi Lokonga is almost deal done for 15 mil euros from Anderlecht at 21 years of age Sambi Lokonga is a future star and maybe a captain of Arsenal Football Club but as a box to box midfielder, playmaker and to partner Thomas Partey, Marcel Sabitzer is an excellent choice. The Austrian is perfect for this role not only he is technically excellent with an eye for goal but he works extremely hard for the team and is tactically super intelligent. He is super composed with ball at his feet and he doesn't panic when he is pressed. As a former wing he also operates well with half spaces. Though his Market Value is around 39 - 40 mil Euros he will be available around 15 -17 mil euros as his contract is expiring this year. 

                       

4. ST - Andre Silva (Eintracht Frankfurt 🠊 Arsenal )

 Andre Silva was outstanding with Frankfurt last season. Only 3 player hand scored more goals than him across the continent in 2020/2021 season. He scored 28 and assisted  7 goals in 32 Bundesliga matched 5 more than Aubameyang and Lacazette scored combined in 28 fewer matches. He has a high xG from ball progression ie. 21.4 goals per season. The Portuguese's xG proves he is technically gifted and ideal player to fill the striker position. Silva is also strong in the air as he scored 8 headed goals this season. The 25 year old has a wide array of finishing with either foot which made him 2nd top scorer of Bundesliga preceding Lewandowski. Andre Silva should be a buy now option as he is available for 34 mil euros. Andre Silva can also play the Aubameyang's part if he struggles again.  

               

5. CAM - James Maddison (Leicester City 🠊 Arsenal)

Last season Arsenal suffered for creativity issue who better to solve this issue than James Maddison. With the involvement of Emile Smile Rowe in the second half of the season addition of James Maddison will spark up an healthy competition. He can also play on the left hand side a versatile player he is directly involved in 21 goal involvements  last season he is also hard worker defensively as he completes around 1.5 tackles per match. He is also a great carrier of the ball as he gives an aggregate of 3.84 passes inside the box and around 4.8 great chances per match. He will Be available around 70- 80 mil euro a bit costly but worth it.
